Meet Anisha, Functional Nutritionist
Anisha utilizes a whole-body approach and Functional Medicine principles to address the root cause of chronic symptoms. Her mission is to develop a personalized life map to guide each patient’s health journey. From elimination and detoxification strategies to identifying and eliminating trigger foods, helping educate patients, and teaching them to advocate for themselves is one of her biggest goals. Rooted in a decade of navigating her family health crises, Anisha brings a deep, personal understanding of patient advocacy and the daily realities of chronic illness management & recovery.
As an integral member of our collaborative clinical team approach, Anisha also operates under the guidance and supervision of a physician when needed to ensure your nutritional and lifestyle protocols align perfectly with your overall medical care. By combining expert clinical guidance with clarity from functional lab testing, she identifies drivers of symptoms that can be missed. This evidence-based approach has guided numerous patients to successful outcomes in resolving imbalances by treating the whole person, not just the symptoms. You define your idea of “optimal” health, and Anisha will listen, advocate, and guide you while providing educational resources, while you sit in the “driver’s seat” to make nutrition and lifestyle changes for a healthier tomorrow.
Anisha continues to give back to the community and loves to travel with her husband and 2 children whenever she can.

My Philosophy: The Intersection of Integrative & Functional Health
Experience. Precision. Results.
We’ve lived with chronic illness. Now, we guide you with personalized, science-backed plans that go beyond managing symptoms—building long-term health, your way.
This is personalized, data-driven care for those who understand that longevity is built intentionally.
The Body Is Connected. We Connect the Dots.
- Chronic illness rarely begins where symptoms appear.
- Gut health influences inflammation.
- Inflammation impacts hormones
- Hormones affect metabolism and brain function.
- Stress alters all of it.
- The body operates as an integrated system — not isolated parts.
Through comprehensive history and personalized functional lab testing, we identify the patterns driving dysfunction beneath the surface. We examine gut integrity, inflammatory markers, metabolic efficiency, hormonal balance, and stress physiology together — assembling the pieces of your health puzzle with precision.
No guesswork.
No generic protocols.
Our role is to listen, advocate, and collaborate with your healthcare team, ensuring you maintain control over your journey toward a healthier future. We can work with physicians to offer specialized testing if needed. Licensed physicians provide medical advice, diagnosis, and medical treatment. I work closely with your medical professionals to ensure comprehensive care if required.
In Loving Memory of my beautiful daughter, Risha Shukla, 1996-2026
Advocate & Philanthropist
Risha’s dedication to the healthcare community was shaped by a lifetime of navigating complex medical challenges. Diagnosed with multiple chronic conditions in childhood, she transformed her experiences into a mission to help others. At just 8 years old, she founded Kids Who Care Foundation, a non-profit devoted to uplifting and cheering critically ill children around the world—an initiative that earned her numerous awards and recognition for her compassion, leadership, and vision.
A recipient of the Girl Scouts Gold Award and an ambassador for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Starlight Children’s Foundation, Risha was deeply committed to bringing hope, joy, and advocacy to children in need. Her passion for medicine began early—at just 15, she served as a surgery research intern at UCI, reflecting her extraordinary drive to learn, heal, and make a difference.
Risha was a gifted speaker, leader, and advocate who understood healthcare from both the patient and professional perspectives. She was deeply passionate about a root-cause approach to wellness and dedicated her work to helping others find clarity and empowerment in their health journeys. Through her role at Functional Medicine Lifestyle and the Diabetes Prevention Program, she guided clients of all ages toward healthier, more aligned lives.
Risha dreamed of becoming a surgeon who would combine clinical excellence with deep empathy. Though her life was tragically cut short by sudden cardiac arrest from a neuroendocrine tumor, her legacy continues to live on through the countless lives she touched, the hope she inspired, and the compassion she brought into the world.
